We have been very busy planting sixteen hundred ornamental grasses, turning on sprinkler systems, maintaining landscape properties and installing outdoor living.
I was at a nursery yesterday shopping for annuals and they said this growing season is six weeks behind. So if you want to plant your petunias, you may want to cover them on cold nights and if you have hanging baskets put them in your garage.

Perry and I attended a Landscape Contractors training program on Wednesday. Some of the wonderful classed were: Building Raised Patios, What Women Want and Creating Outdoor Cooking Areas and Firepits. I enjoyed learning about creating outdoor living space and realized it is not as difficult as it looks. I also learned not to put a Presto log into one of those portable fire pits that look like an egg. Raised patios are becoming popular replacements for decks and they require very little maintenance. The best part of this conference was that we won a hammer and a trip to Cancun. We gave the hammer to an employee but I think we will keep the trip. Thanks to Willamette Graystone for putting on this fun conference.

Crocuses and daffodils
Are you seeing signs of spring in your yard? Hopefully all of the snow has melted and your bulbs are emerging. When the bulb foliage has emerged two to three inches get rid of the weeds that surround it, you want them to thrive. At the start of the bulbs growing season, an application of 10-20-20 fertilizer would be beneficial. And another application at the peak growing season. We are getting busy and so thankful for the work we have. We also built a water feature in our own backyard, it looks beautiful. We plan on installing a paver patio, paver seating and a outdoor kitchen. Hopefully, we will have time to enjoy it this summer. Well, that is all for now and have a great day.
